Thursday, Twin Cities.

Two bigger trips this week, both below what Google says these routes usually cost. Checked Wednesday afternoon.

🇹🇭 MSP → Bangkok (BKK) — $906 round-trip

Mon Jan 25 – Mon Feb 1, 2027 · United + ANA, 2 stops (Chicago, Tokyo) · about 27 hrs out

Bangkok for under $1,000 round-trip.

Google says the cheapest flights to Bangkok in January usually run $980 to $1,750, and flags this fare as $155 cheaper than usual for these dates. The fastest option on these dates, a one-stop on Delta and Korean Air, is $1,777.

Late January is Bangkok's dry season.

The catch: Two stops and roughly 27 hours on the way out. On a one-week trip, that's a real chunk of it. Worth it if you can add a few days.

Book by: This week.

🇮🇸 MSP → Reykjavik (KEF) — $546 round-trip, November

Fri Nov 13 – Fri Nov 20 · Icelandair, nonstop · 6 hrs 10 min

Yes, Iceland again. Two weeks ago we sent December at $528; this is for anyone who wanted to go sooner.

Google's usual range for November is $610 to $1,300, and it says this fare is $280 cheaper than usual for these dates. The next-cheapest option is $814 with a long connection.

November means short days and long nights, which is what you want if you're going for the northern lights.

Same Icelandair bonus as always: you can stop over in Iceland for up to seven days on the way to somewhere else in Europe at no extra fare.

Book by: Soon. It leaves in a month.

Passed on this week: Rome in March (the $753 one-stop from Monday's alert is gone; it's now $805 and up, which Google calls typical) and Paris or Amsterdam in January (Google's alerts had them at $794 and $823 with connections, which it calls typical).

Back Tuesday with weekend escapes.

If you book Bangkok, reply and tell us. We'll want a full report.
